Background Information
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon, manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and head and neck regions. After 4 years of dental school, they enter an additional 4 to 6 years residency training in a hospital based environment. While specializing in the head and neck region, they also receive advanced training in anesthesia just like a hospital anesthesiologist, allowing them to perform various procedures safely while the patient is asleep, setting them aside from general dentists and oral sedation.
Dr. Ho practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, corrective jaw surgery, pathology resection, and surgical tooth exposures. As well, techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention is provided with optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
In late 2003, Dr. Ho moved into his new state of the art facility in Brownstown where he has been in active patient care. While under our care patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery with pulse oximetry and a newly mandated Co2 monitoring system
Surgical Staff
The surgical staff at Southshore Oral Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of IV sedation and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well-versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified.
